Lysebotn is situated at the very end of Lysefjord, and is best known for the 27 hairpin bends that wind up the mountainside from the valley. In addition to its magnificent, highly contrasting and untamed scenery, Lysebotn is also known for its hydroelectric power plant. In recent years Lysebotn has been largely abandoned due to the automatization of the power plant, and has lost its school, kindergarten and shop. |
